Ministry of Health orders the presence of a maximum of two people in public places in order to protect public health
Based on the government session, the Ministry of Health has issued an extraordinary measure that extends the ban on the free movement of persons in CZ, except for travel to and from work and procuring basic needs, such as grocery shopping. Furthermore, it restricts movement in public places and contact with other persons to the absolutely necessary degree. Groups of at most two persons are permitted in public places, except for household members, the performance of an occupation, business or similar activities and attendance at funerals.
Furthermore, the restriction of movement is not limited with regard to travel in urgent official matters, outings in nature or attendance at funerals. At the same time, when coming into contact with other persons, it is necessary to maintain a distance of at least 2 meters wherever possible.
The aim of the proposed changes in connection with the practically identical measures previously adopted by government resolutions is to temporarily place maximum restrictions on social contact among people, except for essential travel, so as to maximally limit the community transmission of the coronavirus disease. The extraordinary measure of the Ministry of Health is based on the government resolution and was issued for the period of from 6:00 a.m. on 24 March 2020 to 6:00 a.m. on 1 April 2020.

This extraordinary measure does not alter the existing measures concerning the visiting of recreational facilities such as cottages and chalets. The Ministry of Health strongly urges all citizens to leave their homes in only the most urgent cases and to limit visits to their recreational homes. The Ministry also emphatically warns that citizens under quarantine or those who have come into contact with a positively-tested person must by no means leave their homes. Citizens who do not feel any symptoms of the disease may travel to other locations, except for closed locations, while observing basic hygienic rules including the wearing of a face mask, provided they remain within the enclosed area of their recreational home and minimise contact with others in the area.
